Nicole Utsch

2023 Q2 winner is…
Stefan – Director of Retail Lending – St. Cloud

Stefan has been a dedicated volunteer with the Monticello Chamber of Commerce for approximately 8 or 9 years. His involvement primarily revolves around assisting in the setup of their annual Golf Event, which takes place in May. He has also contributed to the Riverfest activities held every July.

Witnessing the community members’ enjoyment during these events alongside their friends and families brings him happiness. He also finds joy in observing the community’s support for local businesses and takes pleasure in hearing heartwarming stories about how these businesses reciprocate the support by giving back to the community.

In addition to his involvement with the Chamber of Commerce, he also volunteers with the Cub Scouts, a decision he made due to his son’s active participation in the organization. He firmly believes that the Scouts, whether it be Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, or Boy Scouts, offer an exceptional opportunity for the youth to explore various activities and experiences that might not be easily accessible outside the organization.

Thank you, Stefan, for the hard work that you do for our community.

More About Stefan

What do you enjoy most about being a volunteer?
I love seeing the faces of people (particularly kids) when they show up at an event. The pure joy and excitement of just being there puts a smile on my face every time! I also love the unexpected personal connections with people or organizations you otherwise would never have or think of.

Why is volunteering important to you?
I feel that volunteering shows that a little can go a long way. While donating money is great, it doesn’t solve everything. I believe giving your time and effort is a lot more satisfying. Volunteering can also give you a sense of accomplishment. If more people donated their time the world would be a better place because of the personal connections that are made while volunteering.

Besides volunteering, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I personally enjoy bowling. My family and I enjoy spending time at the camper, on the boat, and in the Fish House.
