System Conversion

Earlier this year we announced that GEM Federal Credit Union and Four Flags Area Credit Union joined forces with GRFCU. Over the past several months our team has been working hard prepping and preparing for our system conversion day! During this transition there will be important dates you will want to be aware of that will effect branch hours, your debit and/or credit cards, and online banking. We have those dates and other helpful resources on this page to ensure your in the know of all things conversion!

Will the branch be closed during conversion?

Yes, our Minot location will be closed July 1st – July 5th.

Debit Card Updates

July 3, 2022 Update!

You may now activate your Great River Federal Credit Union Debit Card!

Call 1.877.205.1454 to activate 

Use Primary Member Information During Activation Process.

  • Primary Member Date of Birth
  • Last Four Digits of SSN of Primary Member
  • Must Call from the Primary Member’s Phone On File

What are important dates for Credit Card holders?

  • New Great River Credit Cards issued by June 15th.
  • To Activate Call: 1.800.543 5073.
  • Current GEM Credit Cards Inactive Beginning June 16th.
  • Activate Your New Great River Credit Card Immediately.

Will I still have access to Online Banking?

Beginning June 30th, you will not be able to access online banking via the GEM website. Beginning July 1st, you’ll use Great River’s online banking platform. Please register today by visiting the upper right hand corner of our home page and clicking “register”.

How do I register for Online Banking?

Instructions on how to register for online banking can be found here. Once registered, we encourage you to download our mobile app from the Apple or Android store. If you have additional online banking questions, please visit our Online Banking FAQ page here.

Member Account Number Details:

Your account number has been changed to have a preceding “1” and several “0” to make your account number 8 digits. Example: if your account was previously 1234, starting July 1st, your account number will be 10001234; if your account number is 12345 your account number will be 10012345.

Which website should I visit?

The GEM website will become inactive on July 1st and will be re-directed to the Great River FCU website. This will be your new resource for all banking needs, branch contact information, special offers, and more!

Will the branch be closed during conversion?

Yes, our Niles location will be closed July 30th – August 1st.

Will there be any Debit Card limitations?

Yes, your Four Flags Debit Cards will expire on August 1st. Your new Great River card will be issued at the end of June. Starting August 1st, please activate your debit card.
