Let’s meet Haley Styrbicky (Branch Support Specialist), our 1st Quarter Winner.
Q & A with Haley
Favorite thing about working at the Credit Union?
There are so many things that I enjoy about my job, but my number one reason has to be watching my teammates grow. I work with new hires to onboard them, and it’s amazing to watch them “come out of their shell”, then seeing where each employee ends up.
When not at the CU working, what’s your favorite thing to do?
My favorite thing to do is spend time outdoors, whether it’s hiking, fishing, camping, or just hanging out with my ducks.
Fun fact about yourself?
I love to paint and do crafts, but I have a hard time finishing them up if I don’t do it all in one sitting!
Favorite movie or show?
My favorite show is “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” It always lifts my mood!

Donation of Winner’s Choosing
As a part of the award, the Credit Union will donate $50 to the organization of the winner’s choosing, on their behalf. This quarter $50 will be donated to: SAVE – Suicide Awareness Voices of Education. SAVE was one of the nation’s first organizations dedicated to the prevention of suicide. Our work is based on the foundation and belief that suicide is preventable and everyone has a role to play in preventing suicide. Through raising public awareness, educating communities, and equipping every person with the right tools, we know we can SAVE lives.
I would like to nominate Haley for the Making A Difference award. Haley exemplifies all of our Core Values on a regular basis.
Unity. Haley cares deeply about the team here at GRFCU and shows this in many different ways. From the personal touch with onboarding a new hire to 1 on 1 training with individual team members or branches. Haley cares.
Innovation. You may not know, but in the Training Department we have some innovative things that we have launched over the past year – due to Haley. Our bi-monthly newsletter is one such example. It was Haley’s brainchild and while we both take turns of creating the material, it was originally Haley’s idea. Haley is also regularly helping with innovating our training materials – from creating and revamping our presentations to making the handouts and “boosters” more exciting and fresh.
Community. As mentioned above, Haley is very supportive of our Great River FCU employee community. She’s supportive in whatever way is needed – whether that is with new hires or tenured staff, she’s here and will help support in any way possible. Haley is also a co-chair on our Diversity Committee. With that, she is working hard to make GRFCU a great place for everyone.
Authenticity. Haley is very honest and is always present. When you’re training with Haley, you always have her undivided attention.
Relationships. Pretty sure RESPECT is Haley’s middle name.
Empowerment. Haley takes ownership. If you ask her to do something, it’ll get done. She’s extremely thorough in her researching of issues and questions that come her way and her procedures are always on point.
