Last week we celebrated CU Forward day. What is CU Forward day? It’s a day where credit unions across the state of Minnesota give back to their local communities. At Great River FCU, we don’t just celebrate CU Forward in one single day. We turn it into CU Forward WEEK! During this week, our Wellbeing Committee coordinates activities each day for our team to participate in.
The Official CU Forward Day!
Winter Clothing Drive kick off. This year we donated winter clothes to Pathways 4 Youth, a resource center for youth ages 16 through 24 years old experiencing homelessness.
Thank you to our members who also donated winter gear!
Random Acts of Kindness Day! Each branch gave away a handful of coffee gift cards to our members.
Our staff and their families had a blast baking treats for Quiet Oaks Hospice House. We baked sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, monster cookies, PB & J bars, and banana bread.
We set up tie blanket making kits in our break rooms. We donated the blankets to the Crisis Nursery and the St. Cloud Hospital.
Although CU Forward Week has come to an end, our team is committed to give back to our local communities through the year. As we approach the season of giving, we encourage everyone to look for community building opportunities. To help foster our core value of community, we have more donation opportunities planned. So, stay tuned!
